SSVEP_Lrrk2

Steady-state VEP data recorded in female Lrrk2-KO (n=15) or WT rats (n=14). Electrodes were screws located bilaterally over the visual cortex and stranded electrodes located in the layer 4 of the superior colliculus, recording local field potentials through a tether. The animals were awake and behaving during the recording. The recordings were made in Spike2 v.7.20, the data provided here has been exported to the .mat format which can be loaded into matlab.

  • WT animals have the numbers: 1,3,6,9,11,13,15,16,18,19,20,22,24,26,28
  • KO animals have the numbers: 2,4,5,7,8,10,12,14,17,21,23,25,27,29

Structure of repository

There three folders in the this repository two for data: Colour test and PFE360. The third: Matlab scripts contains a sample script for preprocessing preproc_frequency_spectra_pfe.m and a function accuplot_mini.m In general each data file contains the recordings from four animals: channels 1-4 -> first animal channels 5-8 -> second animal etc. ch1 = visual cortex right side, ch2 = superior colliculus right side, ch3 = superior colliculus left side, ch4 = visual cortex left side It is sampled at 1000 Hz with a high-pass filter at 1 Hz and a low-pass filter at 200 Hz.

  • The colour test: five different wavelengths were applied to a 10 ms flash of light presented at a rate of 14 Hz for 100 seconds. The wavelengths were: short-wave blue (SWB) here denoted UV (405 nm), blue (455-460 nm), green (525-530 nm), red (620-625 nm) and white 5050 SMD LEDs.

  • PFE360 is subdivided into first dose and cross-over: PFE360 is a LRRK2 kinase inhibitor it was dosed at a concentration of 7.5 mg/kg in a cross-over design. The recordings were done in triplicate starting 1 hour after administration of PFE360 using only the blue light setting. The randomisation sequence for the dosing was - 0,1,1,1,1,0,1,0,0,0,0,1,1,0,0,1,0,1,0,0,0,0,1,0,1,1,1,1,1 on first dose 0=vehicle and 1=PFE360 and vice versa for cross-over

  • The folder matlab scripts contain examples of scipts for preprocessing SSVEP data as spectra using Accusleep source code. Therefore it is necessary download the Accusleep master to run this script.
